How can you help?

Money

Many organizations will accept donations of money. Here are a few:

Time

You can take time out of your busy schedule to encourage and support a child or adult in their quest to be a better reader or to be able to read at all. Here are a few recommendations:

Local schools - starting from preschool and going up through seniors in high school

Boys and Girls Club of America - this is where many children go after school while their parents are working. These children often do their homework during this time so it would be a great opportunity to help.

Adult learning centers - many communities have learning centers for adults where you can donate your time to help an adult learn to read.

Homeless Shelters - homeless shelters are a place many people are afraid to go to, but donating time to a shelter is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. You can help a parent and child learn to read together or individually.
